Bic’s Story
She had planned for a hospital birth but baby decided to come before hand!
Bic and her partner got in touch with me at the very beginning of her pregnancy via whenpushcomestoshove, so we were able to get to know one another extremely well throughout their journey.
We spoke several times throughout both on video and on the telephone to discuss any concerns, and to give information for some complications she had during her pregnancy. I attended several hospital appointments with Bic to help advocate for her wishes, and in March she had a beautiful homebirth with just myself and her partner present. Baby was born en caul too!!

Postnatally, she had an unpleasant encounter with the health services due to her unexpected free birth, which I supported and advocated for her and her partner.
This couple were truly amazing and handled the situation with such strength and grace, and I feel so lucky to have been part of this amazing experience.

I had several complications during my pregnancy but Lou provided amazing support, care and advice whenever I needed. Lou even accompanied me to multiple hospital appointments. My labour didn't go as planned but it was stress free because of Lou's presence.
After the birth we had an aggressive and unpleasant intervention from the local health services. This lasted many days with harassment from paramedics, midwives, health visitors and the police. Lou provided me with tremendous support during this time.
I'm eternally thankful to Lou for delivering my baby safely. There aren't sufficient words to demonstrate the immense gratitude I feel towards her. I wish there were more people like her in our daily lives. I would not hesitate to use her services again.
